Our ashram (school), “Swami Krishnananda Yoga Vidyapeeth”, is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance US (under RYS 200 and RYS 300: YA ID 249084) and Yoga Alliance International.
  1. Our TTC 200 & TTC 300hrs Integrated Restorative yoga is recognised by Yoga Alliance US and Yoga Alliance International.
  2. ATTC 300hrs Kriya yoga is recognised by Yoga Alliance International.

Q3. Is it safe to travel by taxi in India?
Yes.
Q1. When should I reach the Ashram?​

You are expected to be at the Ashram on the date of commencement of the course between 6am to 4pm.

Q2. Can I come a few days before or stay a few days more at the Ashram than the stipulated course dates?

Yes, but you will have to pay extra for those additional days.

Q3. Can I bring my child with me to the Ashram?

Yes, provided you have an extra attendant for the child.

Q4. Can I attend the course with my partner?

Yes, but you would have to pay extra for partner’s food and lodging.

Q5. What is the type of accommodation?
  • Twin sharing basis; we do provide single rooms at extra cost.
  • Students who snore shall have to afford a single room in case of any objection by the room partner.
Q6. What all items should I bring with me while coming to the ashram?​

Please bring the following articles with you while coming to the Ashram:

1. Passport with a valid visa (not required for Indian aspirants)
2. Passport / Aadhaar card / Driving License / Voter ID (only for Indian aspirants)
3. Proof of online booking transaction (during check-in verification)
4. Three (3) passport-size photographs
5. Notebook and pen
6. A torch and umbrella
7. Indian currency (optional but recommended)
8. Mosquito repellent
9. Loose decent clothing for the asana class with the following requirements:
– a. T-shirt: Shoulder, chest and back covered
– b. Lower: Below the knees
10. Yoga mat

Note: Depending upon the weather kindly bring appropriate seasonal clothes

Q1. I am a beginner. Is the course suitable for me?​

The module of TTC is thoughtfully customised so as to suit and benefit the beginners as well as advanced students. All those who are physically fit, have sincerity, receptivity, eagerness to learn, enthusiasm, vigour, patience, and faith in themselves as well as in the yogic sciences are suitable for this course. Some of the courses viz., ATTC 300hrs, are advanced and require a basic knowledge of yoga to benefit the most.

Q2. Do I need to study anything pertaining to yoga before coming to the course?

Though most of our courses are customized so as to suit the beginners as well as advanced students, it is always advantageous to have a basic knowledge of the subject before stepping into the course.

Q3. Is there a dress code?

For classes, students are expected to wear comfortable, loose and decent clothing, ensuring that chest, back, shoulders and knees are covered.

Q4. I am pregnant/have serious health problems/just recovered from an acute illness/undergone surgery. Can I attend the course?

Please communicate with the Ashram through email if you have history of, or currently are in any of the above mentioned situations, and apprise us of your limitations so as to enable us to decide whether it will be suitable for you to attend the course, from a medical and scientific point of view

Pregnancy itself is an intense course encompassing all the areas of human persona. The blessed lady should instead attend to herself and the little angel in her womb. A pregnant lady is therefore advised to attend this course at a later date once she imbibes the sweetness of motherhood.

Q5. Can I take my medicines during the course?

Yes 

Q6. What if I get sick during the course? Do we have facilities for medical attention in case of emergency?

Yes. The Lead Trainer (Dr. Ashutosh) himself is a qualified medical doctor and is available in the Ashram 24 × 7 throughout the course, in case of any medical emergency at odd hours. Thereafter, the student needing medical attention will be referred to the required specialty in nearby hospitals.

Furthermore, It is imperative that the students have travel health insurance for the duration of their stay. 

Q7. After completing the TTC, can I practice as a yoga therapist?

The knowledge imparted, if imbibed religiously, can help the successful participant practise as a Yoga Teacher and help your students manage his/her lifestyle disorders and restore their health effectively. The recipient of our certificate does not qualify to practise as a doctor/ healer or Yoga therapist.

Q8. Does the Ashram allow smoking or drinking?

No. The students are not permitted to smoke, consume alcohol, or any other type of intoxicants during the entire course.

Q1. What is the method of assessment?

Method of assessment:

    • Code of conduct – 75%
    • Assignments – 15%
    • Final examination – 10%

Kindly note the extent of compliance with “Code of Conduct” is the most important assessment criteria of Student’s performance. Violation of it may lead:

    • First time – Reminder
    • Second time – Warning
    • Third Time – No tolerance Zone
    • Fourth Time – Suspension from the course and Ashram
Q2. In a batch of ## students, how would I get sufficient support and attention?

‘SAMWAAD’ (‘Constructive Conversation’) is our Personal Contact Program (PCP) – dedicated time given every day, during which specified time is allocated for students to interact directly with the Teacher on one to one basis. This enables the student to clear any doubts or personal queries.

Q4. What is the type of food served?

Vegetarian Vegan friendly food which includes the following:

  • Herbal tea with fruits (twice a day)
  • Lunch
  • Dinner
  • Prasad after Kirtan
Q5. Is the food served during the course suitable for vegans?

Yes

Q6. Will language be a barrier?

The medium of instruction is English. The Teachers are also proficient in Hindi.

Q7. Can I skip a class?

Only if you are physically sick.

Q8. Do i have to be careful about eating food in India?

Definitely – strictly no Street food.
Keeping this in mind we advise the students to eat only in the Ashram for the entire duration of the course .

We accept only online payments via or direct transfer to the bank. We do not accept any donations, be it cash or in kind. Any type of gift given to any staff of the Ashram shall be considered as a gross violation of Code of Ethics.
