Your time here, beyond the course

Less to tick off. More to take in.

You are coming to Inteyoga for several weeks. Goa can become more than the place you arrived in: a familiar path to the coast, a favourite village street, a sunset you make time for.

This is a small guide to exploring around your training. Start nearby, choose an outing that suits your energy, and leave room to rest.

01 · Around Inteyoga

Start close to home.

Our campus is in Sernabatim, near Colva and Benaulim. You do not need an ambitious itinerary to begin discovering South Goa.

For a quiet pause

Sernabatim

Begin with the coast closest to your new routine. Take a gentle walk, watch the light change and give yourself permission to do very little.

02

For a change of scene

Colva & Benaulim

Coastal neighbourhoods, small shops and places to pause. Choose one, wander a little and leave time for the journey back.

For everyday Goa

Margao

A market morning, a few old streets, a glimpse of the town beyond the beaches. Come for the everyday details, rather than a checklist of sights.

02 · South Goa

The coast you can come to know.

Some days call for a familiar beach. Others leave room to follow the coast a little further.

Stay local

Sernabatim, Colva & Benaulim

A simple choice when you want sea air without making a full day of it.

Along the coast

Betalbatim & Majorda

Try a different stretch of sand on an unhurried outing.

Further south

Agonda & Palolem

Save the Canacona coast for a free day, with transport and your return planned.

Let the outdoors be simple.

A coastal walk, coconut groves along a village road, the changing light over paddy fields. There is no need to turn every free hour into an excursion. Follow local beach flags and lifeguard guidance, especially when the sea is rough.

03 · Panjim & heritage

Follow the streets. Find the stories.

Make room for the capital, its historic neighbourhoods and the churches of Old Goa. This is a different kind of day out from the coast.

Look beyond the beach.

Old houses, shaded lanes, tiled roofs and village churches tell another part of Goa's story. Start with the streets of Margao, or save Fontainhas in Panjim for a longer outing.

These are living neighbourhoods. Walk considerately, ask before photographing people and respect quiet spaces and places of worship.

The small, everyday things.

Fresh fruit at a market, bread in a bakery window, a pause at a small cafe. Local life often reveals itself through ordinary moments.

Keep your programme's dietary guidance in mind when eating out, and follow the campus rules about bringing food back.

04 · North Goa

A different rhythm. Another side of Goa.

Look north for coastal forts, beach neighbourhoods and market life. From our South Goa campus, save this for a full day off and choose a small area to explore well.

Make the fort your main stop, then leave room for a coastal pause around Candolim. Check access and visiting arrangements before setting out.

Pair one coastal neighbourhood with a visit around Chapora. Allow time for walking, and choose your route around the weather and your energy.

Town life & markets

Mapusa

For a different view of the north, explore the market area and everyday town streets. A focused visit is often more rewarding than rushing between distant beaches.

Our suggestion: choose Candolim and Aguada or the Vagator and Chapora area. Keep a separate day for Panjim if you want time to explore its streets slowly.

05 · A day further afield

Go a little further.

Choose one direction. Enjoy the journey. Leave enough time to return without rushing.

Choose one beach as your destination, rather than trying to fit in the whole south coast. A long lunch break and an easy walk can be plenty.

A note on nature trips

Spice plantations and waterfalls can be options for a planned day in the interior. Access and conditions change with the season, so check the weather, opening arrangements and any booking requirements before you go.
